You can get some income when you're 50 and not before.  If you're busted at 40 and can afford to let your cash lie for 10 years, you can then begin to get an income.  If you stay until 45 and can sweat it out 5 years, you begin to get something.

How much will get at 50 under one of these pension plans?
That depends on how long you've served as a pilot with the company with a plan, and how much your pay was.

Well, take my case:
I was born on September 12, 1913.
I started flying as a co-pilot on February 1, 1938.
