working out details to determine the exact cost which may be less than 10 percent. That is one of the main reasons why we got questionnaires returned from A.L.P.A membership. 7300 members returned 5000 questionnaires--in six months. The facts will soon be established--maybe the A.L.P.A. plan can be supported by a 9 percent on each side. the 10 percent was put in to be on the safe side. Whatever the figure is, it is going to be higher than the contributions under company plans. And you'll get your money's worth and then some. We don't know what the companies are paying now because the reports to CAA mix the pension costs with a lot of other things. The A.L.P.A. plan may save money for some of the Companies for a little while; but we do not say that it would continue to do so. The problem of getting adequate retirement for the airline pilots is a big one, and to solve it costs money and requires effort on the part of all.
