-8- Retirement Annuities 15. Q. How much annuity will I get when I retire? A. The amount of annuity to which you will be entitled will depend on the length of your total services as an air line pilot and on your pay. 16. Q. My earnings at the present time are running about $700 a month. How much retirement annuity will I get for each year of services? A. The retirement annuity for compensation averaging $300 a month or more will be one per cent of your average monthly pay plus $1.00. If you are making $700 a month, you will be entitled when you retire, on the basis of your current year's service, to an annuity of $8.00 per month. This means that if you worked "X" years, your monthly annuity would be "X" times $8.00. 17. Q. I began to work as a pilot for an air line in January 1943, and I have worked in each month since that time. My earnings so far have run as follows: 1943 $3600 1944 4000 1945 5000 1946 6500 How much is in the way of retirement annuities would I have accumulated? A. The plan goes into effect on January 1, 1948. For the service you have before 1948, your credit will be based on your 1947 pay and your flight hours in that year. Since you do not give any estimate of your 1947 pay and hours, your credit cannot be determined.
