Members of the Retirement Committee-2 January 9, 1948

In other words, Headquarters ceased exerpting [[excerpting]] any further information when it reached the 1000 goal. Mr. Connors informs me, however, that possibly another 400 or 500 excerpts could be made on active members who failed to send in questionnaires but to do so would require the services of two girls, full-time, for one month.

It is my understanding that the executive-inactive questionnaires have since been sent out and are coming in daily. These will result in approximately another 200 questionnaires which are periodically being forwarded to Washington.

Summarizing, it seems that Mr. Latimer is expecting another 400 or 500 more excerpts and, according to Mr. Connors, Headquarters' personnel ceased excerpting when the original 1000 goal was reached and was awaiting further instruction.

An early reply will enable us to take whatever immediate steps are necessary should the 400 or 500 more excerpts be absolutely essential.

Sincerely yours,
AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION
