Mr. David L. Behneke
10/23/47

have been forwarded to us here. As the statement indicates, these responses are very heavily weighted with 1945 and 1946 separations. On that account I would believe them to be a much better index of present conditions than the figures presented by the Air Lines Negotiating Committee at the T.W.A. hearings. It is, of course, very much to be hoped that the follow-up will produce a substantial additional set of returns from your inactive membership. We can piece out most of what is needed as far as the active group goes from your headquarters records, but there is no substitute for a return from an inactive member as to why he became inactive.

If there are any questions about this material I will expect you of course to call on me for whatever other help I can be.

Sincerely yours,

Murray
