The DC power fuses in the Sperry ADF and 27B Receivers are being removed from the units. The Sperry will be fused by a 15 Amp, 4AG fuse located in an extractor fuse post in Radio Junction Box #1. This change will complete the consolidation of all fuses in these aircraft to two locations, Junction Box #1 and Junction Box #2.

We are in receipt of an Engineering Release which states that all battery carts are to have landing gear safety pin cords attached to them. When this program is completed it will not be possible to put the pins in unless batter cart is in position. This is for your information.

The Maintenance Department has brought to the attention of this office that the pilots are not completing the new log book forms upon the turnaround flight where Maintenance personnel are not available. For example, Ottawa. The main error noted is the failure to enter the total times in the lower half of the log sheet (Maintenance Section). Because of ship distribution, the top half of the log sheet and the lower half of the log sheet do not travel together, sometimes varying the arrival at LaGuardia by a difference of three to four days. As you can see, the absence of this time for Maintenance purposes puts them behind the eight ball. There is no doubt that this has been an oversight, in most instances, of filling in the time. Your cooperation with the Maintenance. Department in this matter will be appreciated.
