TO ALL 1948 LOCAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEMBERS

(Read Aloud at Your First 1948 Local Executive Council Meeting)

Dear Member:

We are happy to announce that the Local Executive Council elections for ALPA's Local Executive Council structure have been completed for the year 1948. Please note the date on this letter. Right on the button, don't you think? Pardon us if we seem to gloat a bit about making the final check point on our flight plan. Our ballot certification committee on December 31, 1947, examined, checked, and certified as correct and official the election of all Local Council Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, Senior Copilot Representatives, and Local Executive Council Members to serve for the year 1948 or until replaced in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws.

The 1947 membership of your Local Executive Council No. 28 was as follows:

R. B. Silver - Chariman
M. A. Gitt - Vice Chairman
H. H. Ricker - Exec. Councilman
J.W. Anthony - Sr. Co. Repre.
Charles Berger - Co. Repre.

The 1948 membership of your Local Executive Council No. 28 is now as follows:

H. H. Ricker - Chairman
R. Silver - Vice-Chairman
A. A. Hinkley - Exec. Councilman
M. A. Gitt - Exec. Councilman
R. S. Kraskey - Sr. Co. Repre.
M. B. Woodworth - Co. Repre.
C. L. Nickerson - Co. Repre.

Everything is now all set for your Local Executive Council to carry on it's work for the year 1948. 1947 has been a year of great progress and success for ALPA. Its accomplishments have been many and varied and of monumental importance to the air line piloting profession. It is essential that we have no letup in our activities during 1948. If we are to be successful in the obligations we have assumed, we must keep our Local Executive Councils and Local Councils well organized, strong, and active. Inactive councils and political cliques, although few in ALPA, have been the weak spot of ALPA's armor in 1947. We must all strive to remove these weak spots in our armor. We must not in 1948 repeat the mistakes of 1947.

The best way to keep your Local Council co-ordinated and operated as a
