a bad precedent to say the least!

In the new amended AA Agreement, the copilots enjoy the same bidding rights and privileges as first pilots. Further, copilots bidding trips who are not qualified on the equipment must be qualified by the Company on the equipment.

On the vacation section, pilots with fourteen years, or more, of service now receive three weeks' vacation instead of two. This is a start in the right direction.

During the contract negotiations additional gains were made through an understanding reached by the pilot conferees and the Company, which will be made a part of Company regulations, and which will, if carefully policed by the pilots, result in much better working conditions for the AA pilots.

The Pacific Northern Agreement is a good ALPA contract. I suggest you peruse it carefully.

We are pushing ahead consistently to improve our working agreements and obtain the best for all pilots respecting their rates of compensation, rules, and working conditions. Each year there are improvements. It's like laying bricks one by one and finally a good, liveable house is built.

Sincerely yours,

AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION
