Desireable Qualifications: Training equivalent to a university degree with specialization in statistics; responsible experience in professional statistic work, preferably in relation to the compilation, analysis and publication of air transport statistics.

Positions: AIR TRANSPORT ANALYST - Approximately 5 positions
Grade 6 - ($4,600 - $5,850 a year, Canadian funds)
Grade 7 - ($3,800 - $4,800 a year, Canadian funds)
Grade 8 - ($3,000 - $4,000 a year, Canadian funds)

Duties: Duties will relate to one of the following areas of work: (a) Collection, analysis and interpretation of airline traffic and financial statistics; (b) economic studies on such subjects as a multilateral agreement on commercial rights in international civil air transport, problems of international airmail, airport charges, etc. (c) Studies of the economic aspects of financial and technical aid through ICAO in providing air navigation and similar facilities where joint action by Contracting States is deemed desirable. (d) Studies relating to the facilitation of international air transport. 

Desirable Qualifications: Professional experience in the field of economics or statistics, preferably with specialized experience or knowledge of the economics of air transportation; complementary qualifications such as legal training, experience in airline operations, traffic, finance, etc.

Position: CHIEF LEGAL BUREAU
Grade 1 - ($9,500 - $11,000 a year, Canadian funds)

Duties: To serve as Secretary to the Legal Committee and to direct the work of the Legal Bureau of the Secretariat in providing secretarial services for the Legal Committee and in carrying out functions related to studies of aviation law, general legal questions arising in the course of the organization's activities, the registration, analysis and publication of international agreements, and related activities. 

Desirable Qualifications: Professional legal training; extensive and responsible experience in legal practice, research or administration preferably in respect of international law or aviation law; ability to plan and co-ordinate a comprehensive program of study and research in aviation law.

Position: LEGAL OFFICER - Approximately 3 positions
Grade 2 - ($8,500 - $10,000 a year, Canadian funds)
Grade 3 - ($7,500 - $9,000 a year, Canadian funds)

Duties: At Grade 2, the Legal Officer would be responsible under the Bureau Chief for one of the major areas of legal work in the Secretariat, such as (1) preparation of the text of Conventions, agreements, protocols, etc., research on and preparation of the definitions, drafting of recommended regulations, standards, etc. in co-operation with the Bureau concerned, (2) studies of national laws and regulations on aviation, preparation or revision of rules for the settlement of disputes, review of legal aspects of the operation of agreements registered with the Organization, studies of legal aspects of international air transport, preparation of opinions on legal questions relating to aviation and administration arising in the course of the Organization's work.

At Grade 3, the Legal Officer would conduct important studies and prepare opinions on matters such as the above.
