Desirable Qualifications: Academic training equivalent to university degrees; mother-tongue Spanish; good knowledge of English; knowledge of French also useful. Ability to supervise; experience in aviation or familiarity with aeronautical terminology an added qualification.

Position: TRANSLATOR_INTERPRETER. Approximately 5 Positions
Grade 5 -($5,600 - $6,850 a year, Canadian funds)
Grade 6 -($4,600 - $5,850 a year, Canadian funds)

Duties: To translate publications, documents and correspondence of the Organization into the working language of ICAO, as necessary (primarily into French or Spanish); to interpret at meetings from one or more of the working languages of the Organization to the individual's mother-tongue; positions may be filled as translator-interpreter, or to specialize in either translation or interpretation; some translating positions at Grade 5 are intended for technically trained personnel who will be engaged primarily in translation of technical documents arising from the work of the Air Navigation Bureau.

Desirable Qualifications: Good academic background; familiarity with the technical vocabulary of aviation, either through technical training or experience in aviation; good knowledge of at least one of the working languages of the Organization in addition to mother tongue.

Position: PUBLIC INFORMATION ASSISTANT 
Grade 6 - ($4,600 - $5,850 a year, Canadian funds)

Duties: To assist the Chief, Public Information Section, in carrying out the public information program of the Organization described above; for example, to arrange press conferences, press releases, prepare articles for publication, etc. 

Desirable Qualifications: Similar to those of the Chief, public Information Section, except that more limited experience would be assumed; background of public information experience in a major geographical area.

Position: ACCOUNTANT 
Grade 6 - ($4,600 - $5,850 a year, Canadian funds)
Duties: Under the supervision of the Chief, Finance Section, to perform responsible accounting work, such as preparation of financial statements, investigation and analysis of audit queries, assisting the Chief in the general supervision of internal accounting activities, including maintenance of accounts, accounts payable, payroll accounting, etc. 
Desirable Qualifications: Professional training in accounting; responsible experience in commercial or governmental accounting. 

Position: EDITOR 
Grade 6 - ($4,600 - $5,850 a year, Canadian funds)
Duties: To write publications such as the monthly bulletin, public information pamphlets, and so forth, covering general activities of the Organization; to edit these and other publications and documents; or to work primarily on the editing of technical publications of the Organization, with the assistance of junior staff.
