Montreal Crew Car
Effective Sunday morning, January 16, 1949, the stewardesses will be boarding the crew car at the Laurentian Hotel. All crew car drivers have been instructed that they shall be at the Mt. Royal Hotel promptly one hour and thirty minutes prior to flight departure, regardless of whether the stewardess is aboard the limousine. This office would appreciate learning of instances where the crew car was late in picking you up.

Light Signal Procedures for Airport Traffic Control
The CAA has advised that in order to conform with recent changes in ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices for Rules of Air, it has become necessary to modify the operation of the portable traffic light as used to control the movement of personnel and vehicles on the landing area as well as the landing and take-off of aircraft not equipped with radio. This change is effective internationally on the first of January. Domestically it becomes effective February 1, 1949. Effective on these dates, signals from a portable traffic control light shall mean the following:

The military services have been advised of this change. Issues of the Airman's Guide between now and February 1 and the next Flight Information Manual will also contain this notice.

Military Leave of Absence
It is requested that all pilots submit their requests for military leaves of absence for 1949 to this office by January 31, 1949, and if possible, that they confine themselves to the latter part of March, month of April, May, June, October, November and December.

Flight Altitudes - BLUE 56
Mr. Tomlin of A.T.C. advises that ordinarily the flight altitudes over Blue Airway 56 are odd southbound and even northbound, but that all clearances must be coordinated with Patuxent River Naval Air Station and therefore other altitudes might be authorized.
