Circuit Breakers and Fuses

A number of complaints were recently recorded on the Form 0-1 stating that a parti-cular item was inoperative. Subsequent investigation showed that a circuit breaker had fallen or that a fuse had blown.
All pilots are requested investigate fuses and circuit breakers themselves and make the necessary adjustments unless they reason to believe that it would be unsafe to do so. It is of the utmost importance that all items on the aircraft be in working condition if at all possible and if such action is not taken by the flight crews the situation might occur when they would wish they had taken the necessary action to correct the faulty condition.

R-2000 Power Settings

In the hope reducing bearing difficulties on the R-2000 engines, you are hereby requested to increase cruising RPMs to 1900 at 600 h.p. Since this h.p. is the same as is presently being used, the slight increase in RPM will result in a negligible increase in fuel consumption. Bulletin NO, 10 in the Aircraft Operating Manual will not be revised accordingly until the results of this new cruising have been studied.
