Mr. David L. Benhcke, President
Air Line Pilots Association
3145 West Sixty-Third St.
Chicago 29, Ill.

Dear Mr. Behncke:

Thank you for your letters of November 4th and 7th regarding Colonial's Route applications.

The latest development is that the Company is now awaiting a decision, from some United States Court in Washington, D.C., on the validity of the Injunction against the government that the Company has. The Company is restraining the CAB from giving the President of the United States an opinion or decision; so that the President will be able to notify the Canadian government that it is permissable for the air line of its choice to operate between Montreal and New York. Mr. Janas never does things in a small way.

Mr. Janas feels that the big air lines have been bucking him politically for years and that is why Colonial is not getting its fair share of route mileage. It is his hope that he can exert enough pressure on the CAB, through his Injunction proceedings, to get the relief that he feels we need.

At this time perhaps Larry Cages could keep us informed of developments in Washington. I am very much interested in the development of this whole business as it unfolds in the Capitol.

Will keep you advised further of anything that may occur.

With best regards, I am,

Sincerely yours,

Michael A. Gitt
