Dear Mr. Janas

My wife and I enjoyed our little visit with you yesterday.

As for myself I was particularly interested to learn again of your continued interest in your employee's problems. Particularly the problem of retirement. I wish we could only make our pilots as aware of this particular problem as you are.

After going over in my mind our conversation of yesterday it occurred to me perhaps you might care to make a statement for the record setting down some of your views as you expressed them. I was particularly pleased over your expression of the need of retirement for pilots. Also your statements on the need of a retirement plan that would not be operated or managed by the Airline Copanys [[Companies]]. In general your thoughts are running parallel with those of ALPA's Interim Retirement Committee of which I am a member.

It would be a fine thing if you would allow ALPA to use any statements that you might care to make for publication in our magazine or perhaps for general distribution amongst ALPA's membership. Naturally anything used would first be cleared with you.

With kindest regards, I am,

Sincerely yours

Michael A. Gitt
