Mr. Michael A. Gitt
188-40B 71st Crescent
Flushing, New York

Dear Mr. Gitt:

This will acknowledge your letter of April 24 regarding the decision of Judge Simmons.

Your analysis of Judge Simmons' decision has been carefully studied and discussed with My Schy. Inasmuch as Mr. Schy is presently in New York and will meet with your regarding this matter, it will serve no purpose to prolong this communication with a further discussion.

This decision rendered by Judge Simmons was in my opinion extremely unfortunate and strikes a body-blow to the bidding sections of our employment agreements. It is obvious that the Judge did not entirely understand the importance of the decision he was rendering. We have therefore considered the possibility of securing from him an interpretation of his decision in an attempt to alleviate the damage he has done. It is not generally possible to have an arbitrator revise his decision. However, by requesting an interpretation it is possible to change it considerably. This step should be taken as soon as possible, but we felt it necessary that My. Schy discuss this with you prior to taking such action.

Your further observations will be greatly appreciated.

With best regards, I am

Sincerely yours,

AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION
