Re: Gitt vs Colonial

Dear Capt. Gitt:

In preparing your case for presentation to the neutral, I think it would be desirable for me to know what requirements if any Colonial has for its captains. For example, does the Colonial Pilots' manual provide any minimum number of hours before a man is eligible for captaincy? Or does Colonial's Manual prescribe any minimum number of hours as a co-pilot on DC-4's before a man is eligible for international captaincy? Does the Manual require any minimum number of hours of "over-water" time as a prerequisite for the Bermuda run?

In addition, I should like to know if Rad Janas is the official Chief Pilot. Will you be able to determine for me the following:

1) His date of employment as an air line pilot by Colonial.
2) The length of time or number of hours he flew as a co-pilot.
3) The length of time or number of hours he flew as a captain.
4) The length of time or number of hours he flew as on the Bermuda run.
5) The total number of hours he has flown
6) The number of hours he has on multi-engine equipment.
7) The number of hours he has on 4-engine equipment.
