TO: ALL PILOTS
FROM: DIRECTOR OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS
SUBJECT: CAPTAIN VACANCY BERMUDA OPERATION

At the request of the Council we are opening the extra sections on Bermuda as a vacancy. Although we have no idea at the present time whether these flights will actually be flown, it is possible that this position will exist for approximately two months. If at any time during the month it appears that there is insufficient time available, the complement on Bermuda will be reviewed accordingly. In view of the necessity of placing the successful bidder on the run as soon as possible, and in view of several notices to the effect that minimum requirements for assignment to the Bermuda operation would be to demonstrate ability in Morse Code at 10 W.P.M., and pass a celestial examination, the successful bidder will have had to complete these requirements by the closing date of this bid.

(this was followed by a closing para. stipulating the closing time 0900 - 7/8/'50)
