Executive Memorandum No. 1
To All Employees: 

Donald A. Duff, formerly President of Challenger Airlines Company and recently Vice President of Traffic and Sales of Frontier Airlines, has been elected Executive Vice President and General Manager of Colonial Airlines.

Mr. Duff comes to Colonial Airlines with twenty-one years of experience in air transportation, twelve years of which were in the eastern part of the country and nine years in the west. He is experienced in all phases of the industry although his primary experience has been in the traffic, sales, public relations and governmental offices of the business.

Mr. Duff will function in every respect as President of the airline and will refe r [[refer]] to me any matter which, in his discretion, requires my attention.

Mr. Duff is initially concerned with providing active on-the-ground leadership for Colonial Airlines, which, due to my other business interests, I have been unable to fully provide. In addition, it is Mr. Duff's objective to strengthen the unity of our organization and our unity of purpose for the future.

Colonial Airlines is a great name in the airline industry and Colonial Airlines has a fine record, both for safety of operation and service to the public. Mr. Duff is going to work with all of you to continue this fine record and to make his contribution to improving the stature of Colonial Airlines place in the air transportation industry in the future. He has made a reputation for himself in organization work, and for my information, he can be expected to give considerable attention to any problems of any department or any employee.

Your fullest cooperation with Mr. Duff in the accomplishment of his objective for Colonial Airlines is anticipated and will be appreciated by me.
