Captain R. B. Silver, Chief Pilot
Colonial Airlines Inc.
La Guardia Field, Jackson Heights
New York.

September 17, 1952.

Dear Bob,

The other day, while I was flying trip # 408 (Sept. 6th) a Passenger requested permission for his wife and himself to have a look at the cockpit. His request was cordialy complied with. As he was leaving the cockpit, he pressed a dollar bill in my hand. I naturaly returned the money and he stuck the bill in my shirt pocket, and left the cockpit.

I would appreciate it if you would take my enclosed check for one dollar, and on behalf of my crew and myself, contribute this dollar to any charity appealing to the Colonial Airlines employees for help.

By copy of this letter I am informing the individual members of my crew of this action, as I feel that the money was given to me as Captain of the crew.

Thankyou for your cooperation in this matter, I am,

Sincerely yours,

Michael A. Gitt.
