In the matter of the application of

COLONIAL AIRLINES, INC.
and
EASTERN AIR LINES, INC.

under Section 408 and 412 of the Civil Aeronautics Act of 1938, as amended, for approval of an agreement for the acquisition of the assets of Colonial Airlines, Inc., by Eastern Air Lines, Inc.

ORDER

A full public hearing having been held in the above-entitled proceeding, and the Board, upon consideration of the record, having issued its opinion containing its findings, conclusions and decision;

IT IS ORDERED:

1. That the joint application of Colonial Airlines, Inc. (Colonial), and Eastern Air Lines, Inc. (Eastern), for approval of the agreement of January 28, 1955, providing for the acquisition by Eastern of the assets of Colonial, be and hereby is approved, insofar as it relates to the acquisition by and transfer to Eastern of the certificates of public convenience and necessity for (a) route FAM-31, issued to Colonial by Order Serial No. 4793, dated May 17, 1946, and approved by the President on May 22, 1946 and (b) routes Nos. 71F and 72F, issued to Colonial by Order Serial No. E-618, dated June 3, 1947, and approved by the President on June 9, 1947;

2. That at such time as Eastern makes an appropriate showing to the Board that all necessary steps have been completed for the consummation of the aforementioned acquisition agreement, the certificates of public convenience and necessity held by Colonial for routes 71F, 72F and FAM-31 will be transferred to Eastern by appropriate Board order;
