INTL 94 Kings Point Road Kings Point, New York August 5, 1968 Mr. Herbert A. Levy Suite 1250 Federal Bar Building 1815 H Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20006 Dear Herb: I very much liked the thoughts you expressed in your letter of August 2. With regard to your concern over the "psychological wisdom of that course", look at it that his course now might be propitious because General McKee is gone and Mr. Dave Thomas might have more favorable thinking on the Age 60 problem. Informal discussions could very well lead to some ap-to-date thinking on the part of the FAA. Remember that right now they are on the "hot seat" because of the air traffic situation. They could and should need ALPA; they need friends. This, if properly used, would make it all the more important and timely for your idea of "informal contacts with the FAA by initiating and urging the creation of a multi-lateral task force on the Age 60 matter". As we are now set up to meet on the 14th at 11 A.M. at the Hospitality House and also on the 15th in Washington, D.C., may I suggest that you proceed with your plan as you outlined in the last paragraph of your letter? This then would be a proper agenda item for our meeting on the 14th and 15th. Furthermore, if you agree, please advise the rest of the Age 60 Committee, by copy of - continued - "SCHEDULE WITH SAFETY" 433
