Dear Doctor Carter:

The Special Age 60 Retirement Committee of the Air Line Pilots Association, International, is currently engaged upon a program which may result in a public examination into the basis for FAA's Age 60 Regulation. This Committee is aware of your interest and efforts concerning this subject, and has asked me, as Associate Counsel to the Committee, to communicate with you respecting the matter.

We strongly feel that it would be most fruitful to have your views concerning some of the issues which we expect to confront. Accordingly, Captain M.A. Gitt, the Committee's Vice-Chairman, and I would be most appreciative of an opportunity to meet and consider these matters with you informally in Rochester at your convenience. If preferable, we would be pleased to have you as our dinner guest at a place of your selection, and to explore these matters with you during evening hours.

Very truly yours,

Herbert A. Levy
