ALPA Air Line Pilots Association 55th Street & Cicero Avenue Chicago, Illinois 60638 Portsmouth 7-1400 Affiliated with A.F.L-C.I.O INT'L February 20, 1968 To All ALPA MEC Members Gentlemen: I am in receipt of a letter dated February 9 to all ALPA MEC Members, attaching a copy of Eastern Air Lines MEC Resolutions 68-5 and 68-6, both of which address themselves to the age 60 compulsory retirement problem. In order to give you a more complete understanding of what transpired on this issue and to keep the record straight, I am enclosing copies of self-explanatory letters which led up to both of these Eastern Air Lines MEC Resolutions. I am further copying you on a letter dated February 15 from Captain J. J. O'Donnell, Chairman of the EAL MEC Retirement Committee and Chairman of ALPA's Standing Committee on Insurance and Retirement, to MEC Chairman Tully. Captain O'Donnell requested Captain Tully to give the same circulation to his letter as was given the subject resolutions. I might add that the appearance of Captains Richardson and Gitt was given first consideration by the Executive Committee, while the OSS Committee and the Washington Move Committee waited.
