Mr. Gerald D. Goss, Chairman
Special Committee on Age 60 Retirement
Air Line Pilots Association
Suite 1139-45
National Press Building
Washington, D.C. 20004

Dear Gerry:
Considerable discussion developed at our recent MEC meeting with respect to the mandatory age 60 retirement FAA rule. As a result of this discussion, I was directed to advise you that the WAL MEC fully endorses the efforts of your Committee to rescind this discriminatory rule at the earliest possible date.

The MEC accepts the EAL MEC resolution #1 of October, 1967, as most adequately expressing the views of the WAL pilots and commends the EAL pilots for their continuing efforts in this area.

We shall enlist the Management's support as suggested in your letter of March 20, however, preliminary discussion in this area has not been well received.

Best regards to you and your Committee.

Sincerely
AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION
