Captain Harry Orlady
312 South Park Road
LaGrange, Illinois

Dear Harry:

Thank you for your September 24, 1968 letter.

For the purpose of keeping you current concerning the work of Age 60 Committee, the following is a list of the principal areas in which it is now involved:

1. Exploration of possibilities for closer coordination with Captain E.A. Hinz and those other United pilots interested in more active support of efforts to change the FAA regulation.

2. Efforts to cultivate and produce a public expression of support by Eastern Air Lines and other carriers for a change in that regulation.

3. Contact with FAA concerning possible creation of joint Age 60 study to seek a mutually acceptable resolution of the issues generated by the dispute over the Age 60 rule.

4. Efforts to develop widespread support for the Association's position on the Age 60 issue within the membership of the Association.

5. Efforts to enlist Congressional support for a fair evaluation of the Rule.

6. Efforts to avoid possible liability to the Association under P.L. 90-202 based upon employment agreement provisions which deny non-line pilot employment opportunities to age-retired line pilots.
