application was made and rejected. The inference is plain and it just isn't true. The question is: "Would you have hired him?" His answer is "I didn't."

MR. SABLE: Well, would you have hired him if he applied?

THE WITNESS: We would not.

Q Why not?

A Because in our opinion, as I have said before, he did not possess the qualifications or the special skills and so forth that we consider necessary.

Q Do you select pilots for these jobs outside of those with the greatest proficiency or medium proficiency or those with lower proficiency or what?

A Well, naturally, we want our managers of flying and our instructors to have the highest skills; not only the highest skills, but also if it is in the case of the instructor, to be able to pass on their knowledge and skill to others. Some have the knack for doing it and some do not.
