The Tiny "Y".

Shoot 2.

February 29th, 1928.

THE SUN * DAY DIARY OF A "Y" POSTER.

The little Poster awoke with a start. It was Sunday her busiest day. She seldom did, but she often felt like singing, "oh day of Work and Gladness". She had to make the rounds of the dormitories. She had to appear in Teachers' Home and sometimes Holly Tree. She used up so much energy during the day that each Sunday night found her tired and worn out. She sprang out of bed, overturning a diary book. It lay open so that one could read the leaves. The Poster left the room hurriedly. The diary book could make no escape. It would be exposed to "Ys'" eyes. And sure enough along came the Publicity Chairman and of course the inevitable happened. Her eyes fell first on these pages.

"Feb. 5." Oh! I'm just a little "Y" poster but I'm awfully important. "The Artistic Afternoon" on Saturday was a beautiful affair. Everybody thought I was lovely in my new gown of pink taffeta and lace. I loved being in Teachers' Home. They said I was elegant. They will read poetry in the "Y" meeting tonight. There will be flowers and lighted candles. I hope they will like it. Virginia Hall parlor is so "homey".

"Feb. 18." I have felt blue all day. Tonight is a joint-occasion. My duties have been so matter - of - fact - just plain announcing. But for some reason the girls have smiled approvingly. It perplexes me.

"Feb. 19." Oh ! such glorious weather. White dresses have been flitting pass all day. This is the night of the "Dramatic Ceremony". My dress is of georgious red and purple. I look like an Ethiopian Queen.

"Feb. 26." Today is the opposite of last Sunday - So gloomy and cold. The girls go to church for Vespers tonight. They will discuss "Friendship". From all I've seen and heard today, I have begun to wonder how many real friendships exist among them. If I were "human" I would have been invited to the meeting. I wish I had been. I love friends. "They are mirrors through which we see our real selves". I wish every Sunday night be a "Perfect Day" for me - then I would find at the end of each "Y" meeting, the soul of some new friend. - Good nite, Diary.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION.

Our work goes on at Little England Sunday School. Sunday after Sunday, Irene Draper is doing some "new" things for the little folk of that community. They make attractive Sunday School Scrap Books. They memorize many beautiful "Memory Gems" from religious literature. They have their own class projects. They will have a gay Easter-egg hunt on the Institute Campus Monday following Easter.

The work at the little Phoebus Sunday School is equally interesting. Altho we began this work as recently as last year it has proved to be a worthy experiment. The Phoebus project is supervised by a capable group of College Women.
