In reply to the within Report of W.G. Bond  Supt. I would say that said Report is about like his Proclamation in the Clarksville Chronicle, and the H.H. Bunker Case. The very first of his report is wrong. There is not, nor, ever was; Such a Firm in this county as Woods Yeatman & Co. The Name & Style of the Firm, where he made the Contracts for the Freedman, is Woods Lewis & Co. and the Principal of that Firm is Mr James Woods of Nashville, his son Ja. Woods Jr. is here at the Works & Mills from Dover, and is a very clever reliable Gentleman
Maj. Bond Says he went to the works for the purpose of making contracts on the 15 Jany While there making contracts on the 17th six armed men made a raid on the Freedmen at J T Johnson's &c and robbed them of a considerable amount of money, which may be true, as I before reported to you,
but I would here state that Major Bond was cheating the Freedmen & myself more than the Robbers. He made contracts at Woods Lewis & Co. with about one hundred Freedmen charging back our one Dollar each - and to suppose the
