Genl.

I have the honor to drop you a few lines in answer to yours of feb. 28th. You wanted me to send you a report of the condition of things Generally, but owning to the way I recce my letters I deem it not prudent to send you any private communications by mail for all of my letters are opened before they reach me, as I have an opportunity to send you a few lines by hand I would say that there has been some verry hard threats against me and some depridations committed on the freed men and injustice to myself and freedmen it will not be safe for me to continue long unless I get some help, and I now have some trials put off, until the 29th of this Inst. hopeing all will go well until I hear from you again.

I am Respectfully &c Gilbra Seagraves
