Freedman Bureau

March 27th 1866
Brevet Major Genl. Fisk. Asst Commsr &c
Genl

I have the honor from the acquaintance of near a year with Mr. W Morgan late of the Treasury Dept. and has he is desirous of obtaining a position as Agent in the Freedman Bureau. I would recommend him as a very fit man for such post. He is prudent but firm - and altho a Southern man he is a tried loyalist & an unflinching friend of the colored people. Either in Tennessee or Kentucky he will do good service as a Bureau Agent.

I am General your most Obt Servt
