I have the honor to report my safe arrival in this place at 11 a.m. today by way of Dandridge and Newport having left Morristown on Monday morning.  Soon after my arrival here, I was informed by the lessee of the Reuben Arnold property that Reubens father had assumed controll of the premises and had been collecting the rents and had entered into an agreement for one year, representing that the property had been restored: I called on the old gentleman to ascertain if he had any papers showing that the property had been restored. he said it [[underline]] had been [[/underline]]. I asked him if he would be so kind as to let me see the order he asked me if I could not take his [[underline]]word[[/underline]] for it. I told him I could not do so officialy. he then undertook to find the order. but could not succeed he then said it had not been released by the Bureau but had been restored by the Federal Court and an order was issued to the Marshall to put him in possession. and by virtue of that authority he claimed to be entitled to the
