With reference to your communication of the 1st instant, the Major General Commanding is happy to state that as for as has come to his knowledge, none of the instances of official discourtesy, referred to in my letter of the 29" ult., have occurred within your jurisdiction; and my letter was written to make assurance doubly sure, that the like would not occur.
