to get some brick from his camp, that he got about 1000 brick from the said camp that subsequently Mr Nimrod Porter claimed to own the brick - that offered to pay Porter for what  he had taken, but Mr Porter claimed pay for 4000, at $10.00 per 1000, he refused to pay him for any more than he took. Porter sought to have him indicted for stealing these brick, but the Grand jury ignored the bill.

Last Saturday Mr Porter with four other persons came to Browns shop and with knives and pistols drawn threatened to kill him unless he gave his note for forty odd dollars for said brick that under fear of his life, a note for the amount demanded was extorted from him with threats that if he did not pay it they would kill him"
