D. D. Holman, Supt for Robertson Co. reports
No offences have been committed against the colored people in this Dist since my last report. Much interest is manifested upon the part of the whites to contract with the colored people for the coming years. And the greater part of the colored people are disposed to contract, while there are a portion who are disinclined to contract or even labor but disposed to congregate about our town. This of course must be remedied. I am glad to say that the feelings of the whites are growing better towards the colored people, as shown by the liberal prices and prompt settlements being made.

J. K. Nelson, Supt Rutherford Co. reports Nov 30th
I have the honor to report that the affairs of the freedmen in this county during the month of November have been in general satisfactory although there are many cases of imposition practiced upon them by their employers and some cases of actual outrage.

The boy Lowry who stabbed the negro is still running at large. I did not speak to the Justice there in reference to his case for the reason just stated.
