M. C. McConnica, Esq. Supt &c

F. Lauderdale County reports that every thing is moving on quietly in his county. He as approved no contracts or transacted any other business an Agent of the Bureau during the past month.

Hinton G. Hester, Supt. &c of Weakly [[Weakley]] County states that everything is quiet and the people are generally paying the colored people for last years work. That there is plenty of provisions and supplies in the county for the next year, and that the freed people do not require any outside assistance. But few contracts are being made before the Agent in this County this year. Mr. Hester having only approved six, embracing six laborers, who were to receive $7.00 per month. One orphan has been apprenticed by the County Court.

J. J. Holloway, Supt &c of Fayette County Tenn. reports that, "The freedmen are making their contracts and most of them are anxious to get to work." No contracts were approved during the month of January.

Jesse H. Brown, Supt &c of Henry County reports that he has approved ten (10) contracts, embracing ten laborers who are to receive from $10 to $15.00 per month. Five orphans have been apprenticed by the proper authorities
