Henry Stanley. Tobe Ping and others upon which a Special report was made on January 19th 1867. For the burning of the house of Solomon Adams (col'd) on the 26th of Dec'r 1866. came on at the Feby term of court in  Springfield, Robertson County, Tenn. and were acquitted the jury not considering the evidence against them sufficiently conclusive

The cases against Robt Hester Wallace Webb, Jim Purtle, and others for the murder of freedmen and which were to come on for trial at the February term of court to be held at Gallatin, Sumner Co. Tenn had to be postponed until next term, there being so many cases on the Docket prior to theirs. 
No outrages of moment upon freedmen have been reported from any part of the Sub District for the month with the exception of two from Franklin Co. Tenn. One of which was the burglary and arson of the premises of Isaac Shambler (col'd) by Louis Oyram who has since fled the state.
