As soon as the day school is fairly organized, a night school will be started for the benefit of those who cannot attend in the day time. Every thing pertaining to this Church and school has been accomplished by the Rev. Mr. Lea. Capt Kendrick reports that Mr. Green, our Agent, took no interest whatever, in the work and knew but little about it.

W. C. McConnico, the Agent for Lauderdale County reports that he has done nothing for the colored people during the past month, except to issue a few rations to them and states that he can do nothing. I would recommend that he be immediately relieved and that he be ordered to turn over his records to the Agent of the Bureau at Brownsville Tenn. and that the two counties be made into one district, the colored population of Lauderdale County is nearly all located in the South East Cor. of the County and Brownsville would be a more convenient place for an Agent
