W. H. Goodwin. Agent for DeKalb, Smith and Wilson Co. reports April 30th 1867. The state of feeling on the part of the citizens in this Sub District towards freedmen and Bureau remains as last reported although a strong feeling of prejudice still exists in the minds of a majority. No recent case of outrage or ill treatment of Freedmen have however come to the knowledge of the Agent. Some very few cases of destitution have of late come to the knowledge of the Agent where aid and assistance from the Bureau by way of rations seems almost indisposable.
