State of feeling on the part of Citizens toward the freedmen and the Bureau, also views and suggestions of the Sub. Assistant Commissioner. 

There is no change in the feeling on the part of the Citizens toward the Bureau or the freedmen in this Sub-District, worthy of note, since last monthly report. 

Political party strife is very high at present and presume will continue so, until after the election, but as both parties seem anxious to secure the freedmens vote, it will probably have a beneficial effect for the present, and tend to secure to them kinder treatment and more equal justice, than they have heretofore received. After the election however, a reaction may be expected on the part of the defeated party. 

The freedmen throughout the District are reported as being industriously at work, generally for good wages.
