The number of colored children apprenticed in Hardiman County by the county court since Jan 1st 1867 is 28. The number apprenticed in Fayette Co. during the same time is eight. 

The employers and employees seem to be getting on better this year than formerly. 

The church and schoolhouse at [[Bohrai?]] for the colored people has been completed and a school will be soon opened. There are three schools in Fayette Co. One at Sommersville, one at LaGrange and one six miles from the latter place. The No. of Teachers are 4, No. Scholars 115, No,  over 16 years of age 42. No. Sabbath Schools 2, No. Scholars 250. 

Mr. Halloway reports that no outrages have been reported to him during the past month, and that the Civil Courts are dealing justly with the freedpeople. 

During the month of May 450 rations were issued to the destitute refugees and freedmen at LaGrange Fayette Co.
