The state of feeling existing between the white and cold citizens of this Dist is not as harmonious with some classes as it has been. this the Agent attributes to political differences although no political outbreak or general proscription has come to the knowledge of the Agent. yet a manifest feeling of distrust is made apparent by a suspension of these actions and expressions that heretofore gave assurances of friendship, and spoke to well for the future. but these manifestations are not of a general character and are confined to those citizens, who take an active, and outspoken part in politics, and it is not apparent that these feelings exist to a greater extent between the white and cold citizens than between the whites alone claiming political differences. With a majority of the cold and white citizens of this Dist good feeling exists.  The freedman as a laborer is making character for himself, it has never come to the knowledge of the Agent when there has been less complaint against them as a laboring class. A great majority
