Lieutenant, 
I have the honor to submit the following report of the condition of the affairs of the Bureau in this Sub District for the month of June 1867;

Mr. J.J. Hilloway in charge of the counties of Fayette and Hardeman states that the freedpeople are doing well - that the past month has been a very favorable one for the farmers and that the prospect for a good crop this year is very flattering. Cotton as a general thing, owing to the wet weather looks grassy, but is being rapidly cleared out by the laborers who are working remarkably well this season.

There have been several large gatherings of the colored people in his district during the month. Religious, Educational and Political meetings have been held and every thing passed off quietly. Numerous small plantation schools with from 15 to 25 scholars are being started in the County, but a dollar
