City moves in this matter promptly and thoroughly, I am of the opinion that it would be advisable for the Bureau to establish a Dispensary at two or three points in the City.

The schools in the City are closed for the summer vacation with the exception of a few private schools, which as a general thing do not amount to much.

During the past month 113 ½ rations were issued to destitute freedmen in Shelby County. The number of persons this assisted was 15, as follows: Adults 9, children 6. In addition to this 82 ½ rations were issued to the Memphis Colored Orphan Asylum.

My report of outrages will be forwarded as soon as the returns are received from all the Counties.
