The feeling on the part of the many of the Citizens toward the Freedmen in this Sub-District has become very bitter since my last "Monthly Report." This ill feeling has been caused by the intense Political excitement during the month, and the fact which has become more apparent every day, that, - although every effort has been made to induce the Freedmen to vote with what is called the "Conservative" party - they will vote allmost unanimously with the Opposition. Actuated by a spirit of revenge, these parties have resorted to all kinds of imposition, and abuse, and in some cases, to open violence toward the Freedmen. - as at Rodgersville, and in this City. - a brief report of which was forwarded from this office on the 27th inst.-
