Many widows with large families cannot command wages to support them. Complaints are being made by Freedmen that their hogs are dying of Cholera which will deprive them of meat during the winter and consequently create much suffering and the crops are almost a total failure

H W Barr, Agent for the Counties of Cheatham and Robertson, reports as follows.

The freedmen in my district are doing well. So far most of them have made good crops.  Will have plenty to live when and some to sell.

No outrages upon the Freedmen have been reported to me during the month.

Our schools are in a flourishing condition but the school house is not at all suitable for the winter months it being a miserable shed belonging to George Lorre a Col'd man.
