numbers of those who in receiving Gov't Monies for Bounties are taking the advice of the Agents and investing it in lands and permanent homes. As a general thing, everything looks promising and cheerful for the colored race in the Sub District, and if they only continue to improve as they have been doing upon the advantages conferred upon them by a generous and benignant Government, they may become not alone an intelligent and industrious class, but a reliable patriotic body in any danger that may arise to the Country in the future.
