There is no change in the feeling on the part of citizens toward the Bureau or Freedmen in this Sub-Dist. nothg of note since my last monthly Report No outrages have been reported and but few complaints made of unfair dealing on the part of the Whites. The Freedmen are reported as being busily engaged in securing the corn crop, which will be unusually large.

Nearly all the Schools in operation before Vacation are again opened, with prospects of several more being opened during the coming month.

The U.P. mission has sent seven Teachers, five of whom are employed in this city, and the other two in Blount County, - one at Louisville, and one at Maryville. Some Six of the new School Houses being built are
