State of Tennessee Hardman County
Dec. 25th 1865

Article of agreement made and entered into this day between H.W. Duncan jr. and of the first part and George Stallions & his wife of the second part, the said Duncan agrees to give the above named George Stallions one hundred and seventy five dollars(175) for the year 1866, and furnish his bread, said George Stallions is to clothe himself & his wife, and find there own meat and pay their own Drs. Bills. "Sarah" The wife of the above named George S, is to work in the crop, and pay half of the expenses of everything, rent of land & feed for one horse included. And said Duncan is to give her half the crop, and said Duncan further agrees to give them ground for a garden, for the purpose of raising vegetable. Mr. George Stallions & wife agree to the above obligation in presence of Witnesses
