An obligation entered into by T.J. Robinson of the one part of Hardeman County Tenn & Prince the former searvant of Elizabeth Robinson of Hardeman County Tenn for the year 1866

Jan the 2nd 1866
Prince having agreed and obligated himself to perform good and faithfull service for one (T.J. Robinson)either about my house or Farm & to be peaceable and agreeable with myself and family. I (T.J. Robinson) agree and obligate myself to furnish said Prince with good and substantial clothing consisting of two suits of Summer and one or more of Winter suits. Also with good and wholesome provisions and pay him two hundred dollars in currency at the close of the term of his services December 25th 1866. Said Prince will be allowed leisure when the circumstances of the Farm will admit of it and will not be allowed the willfull abuse of property.  I also agree to furnish and apply medicines where necessary as far as any knowledge of medicine extends.
