State of Ten. Hardiman County

This agreement made & entered into between James G Wilkes of the County of Hardiman State of Ten of the first part & the colored Laborers of second part witnesseth that for the purpose of cultivating the farm known as the Wm Wood farm 8 miles west of Bolivar for the year 1866 to terminate on the 1st day of Jan 1867 the parties having mutually agreed upon the following agreements to wit the Jacob James G Wilkes agrees to pay to the Parties of the second part one third of all the Corn & cotton grown on the said farm after the corn is housed & the cotton Baled to be [[strikethrough]] equally [[/strikethrough]] divided between the parties in proportion to value of services by the said James G, Wilkes or any other person that the parties may select the said Wilkes further agreed to furnish each of said laborers with a half the pork pr Day for the year with peck of meal pr week & houses to live in the said wilkes further agrees to furnish Team to cultivate the crop & forage to feed them with sufisciant tools to cultivate the crop the parties of the second part agrees to labor faithfully 6 days in the week to be subject to the order & control of the said James G Wilkes at all times to perform any labor required  by the said Wilkes to rise early by day light to have breakfast by sun up to get to the field by half hour by son in the morning to have one hour for dinner [[strikethrough]] to feed and raise no live [[/strikethrough]]
